James Gunn ‘Superman’ Pro’s & Cons

Pros: 

• Just jumping into this world feet first 
• Superman, Lex and Lois were excellently cast!!
• Nathan Fillion. Mr Terrific was surprisingly good 
• Krypto
• Lighter tone. Not dark and broody like Man of Steel
• Superman robots and Fortress of Solitude 
• Bright and the world feels lived in
• Jimmy Olsen ladies man: I like it. He could get his own movie 

Cons:

• Not long enough 
• Ma and Pa Kent: poor casting 
• Superman birth parents sent him to conquer Earth? WTF? 
• Valley girl Supergirl…not liking that take…
• Swearing. I may sound old but Superman should be a family friendly 
• Needed more time with Daily Planet supporting cast. They felt like set decorations and not fleshed out characters 
• Lex was too emotional/bitchy. I would have preferred he was more cold/detached (sociopath)
• The score: why not get John Williams come back?

Rest in peace Hulkster! As a 80’s kid watching WWF Hulk Hogan was my favourite. :(
