Salute to the Kings of Westeros
In the first season of ‘Game of Thrones’ we were introduced to King Robert Baratheon, the man who led the rebellion against the Mad King Targaryen and took the Iron Throne of Westeros. Mark Addy portrayed him and did a fantastic job, but sadly his character died before the end of season one but his absence was definitely felt.
***SPOILERS for HOTD***
Like Mark Addy before him, Paddy Considine played a King of Westeros who also died in season one of ‘House of the Dragon’ and his absence will be felt going forward. King Viserys may have been somewhat weak and made poor choices, but deep down he was a good man and good King.
Thank you Paddy Considine & Mark Addy for bringing these Kings to life on the screen.

My Little Pilgrimage
I went to Lac St Anne to attend the pilgrimage today. It was the last day of the event and most of the people and vendors were either gone or prepping to go. This was not my first time attending this event, in fact my first pilgrimage was back in 1990 with my Granny Lockhart. She had at that point been attending for several decades; her and my Grandpa used to camp there.
But this year was a little different as the Pope came to Canada and to the pilgrimage to apologize for the church’s hand in what happened at the residential schools.
I’m baptized Christian, but my beliefs are a mix of Christianity and Buddhism. Although my grandparents weren’t directly involved with the residential schools I had other relatives that were. So having the Pope fulfill his promise to come to Canada in the spirit of reconciliation was amazing and I for one am grateful. I really admire Pope Francis and feel he is doing good work with his position within the church.
Being by the lake, knowing the Pope had been there three days earlier praying for my family and reconciliation made me feel happy and hopeful for the future healing of all our native people.
